MISSION HYRYPIA: FINALE TIMELINE
THE END OF THE ROAD
The following is a breakdown of the conclusion to Mission Hyrypia. Players should feel free to make decisions in respect to and play within the boundaries of this chronology as they see fit. If something isn't specified in this timeline, you are welcome and encouraged to build/explore between the lines!
There is no strict IC:OOC ratio to these events. Feel free to play at any point along the below timeline - no need to hash out the plot way at the beginning if you'd rather jump straight to a more exciting moment in the Hyrypian plot's finale. All you need to know is that as of April 1st, all remaining Hosts may reunite on Station 72 (see the latest Calendar for more IC and OOC details).

After making camp on DAY :046, Ser Ilya Mor of the Meradan envoy approaches the Carbauschians with a request. Given that the Meradan envoy has suffered no losses from the deaths along the Pilgrimage, they're currently the popular suspects for who's playing dirty. Ser Mor would like the Carbauschians to find the real killer to exonerate the Meradan Envoy. In exchange, he promises that Carbausch will get some political or economic pull should the Meradan's successfully acquire rights to the Nectar at the end of the Pilgrimage.
To avoid alerting the Enemy forces to their politicking, the Hosts must pin the murders on a non-Enemy suspect. The Carpathan delegation, already legitimately on the hook for a couple of grisly murders, seems like the most viable option. Over the next few days...
On the way up the mountain, the Hosts investigate the Carpathans (likely by using their stealth and manipulation symbiote abilities). They discover that Saridian Black’s personal assistant, Veritan was the one who actually committed the murders of the Carpathans aboard the Second Flight airship. The Hosts talk to Casiria about their plan to have Veritan take the heat for all the murders. The hope is that this will destabilize the Carpathan position enough to make way for true peace talks between the three warring faction to begin. Casiria (reluctantly, or through symbiote ability manipulation) agrees. She starts pushing the peace agenda in secret among those she trusts among the Descendant envoy. Right before reaching the summit, Veritan is confronted in front of multiple witnesses. He's forced to admit to the killings of the Carpathans through the use of quick-talking and symbiote abilities, eventually enraging him enough that he attempts to kill them. During the fight he is killed, leaving the hosts free to convince the rest he also admitted to murdering Keya and attacking others. Veritan is framed as an opportunistic murderer with no goals outside of wanton violence; in order to not tarnish the reputation of the Carpathan envoy further, Saridian Envoy is forced to back the claim.
The drama of the ascent (and the renewed clarity of the Host's purpose) is only briefly punctuated by the ceremony that takes place on the top of Mount Mideria. The view is largely dense cloud coverage, however on the far side of the mountain's summit a golden glow can sometimes be seen reflecting through from the mysterious landscape that might lie below. Blessings are said, everyone gets a small stone from the mountaintop. In the morning, the descent begins.
On the way down the mountain, the Hosts begin talking to all the Envoys to get them to reveal specific cultural aspects that the Hyrypians would find distasteful within earshot of Hyrypian delegates. This includes anything that eliminates the Hyrypian's personal cultural identities, anything that does not espouse strong familial ties, anything that degrades the reputation or merit of Hyrypian in the slightest. Good additional talking points include: Highlighting the fractures in the Descendant delegation, the murderous and opportunistic ways of the Carpathans, and the irreverent attitudes of the Meradans. The Hosts simultaneously begin to work to toward having all three major envoys feel as if they're not likely to succeed in their goal of obtaining the rights to the Nectar. This is done through a combination of using emotional and subconscious manipulation to leave them anxious about the possibility of losing and capitalizing on previously established relationships (the Meradan musicians, the Second Elyiad Cabrielle, Ser llya Mor, etc).
This along with the revelation of the murders committed by someone so close to Saridian Black leaves a major contingent of the Carpathan delegation secretly feeling as if Black's lack of oversight has sabotaged their chances for success.
The cloud coverage breaks apart during the descent down the far side of Mount Mideria. What lies below is The Font: a glowing, technomance and mining marvel that descends deep into the hills on the mountain's far side. In a world that has heretofore presented as archaic and traditional, the Font is a revelation of industry. It resembles something like a glittering, pulsing oil refinery. It's a kingdom of pipelines, of platforms, massive silos and spectacularly advanced transportation systems that seem like they might drive deep into the planet's very core.
The area around the Font serves as temporary housing for the hundreds, perhaps thousands of miners as well as being home to one of the largest Seconds facilities on the planet. It is here that the raw material of the Font is transformed into the usable Nectar that has drawn all of the delegates to this place.
Central to the operations, at the edge of the gaping crevasse there is a large open-faced structure from which the mine and refinery which spills down into the earth can be viewed. This isn't the ancient home of an elder family, but a brilliantly modern structure. It's the representation of a united Hyrypia and will serve as both a place to house the Envoys for the remaining days of the Pilgrimage as well as the stage from which the Hyrypians will make their final decision regarding the future of the Nectar.
Upon arrival at the Font, the Hosts begin to seed the idea of peace by using their Meradan and Descendant connections in combination with the Carpathan's hand in Keya's death to push the prospect. This angles the Carpathans into having to engage with peace talks (however reluctantly) as a show of good behavior. Meanwhile, the Hosts use their relationship with Elyiad (thanks Pidge) to encourage the Hyrypians to feel that anyone unwilling to debate peace is likely too weak to make their own case, too desperate, and too unstable to trust with the Nectar. On DAY :063, The Hyrypians invite all envoys in attendance to a peace negotiation. When the bulk of the Carpathan envoy undermines Saridian Black's staunch refusal to engage in the talks, Saridian Black reveals himself to be the personal assassin and direct representative of the Black Empress's wishes to win the Nectar and avert a Carpathan civil war at all costs - including murdering their way to the top of peace negotiations. He and the Carpathan envoy's contingent of loyal imperial guards quickly begin to make bloody work of the room.
There are plenty of casualties in the ensuing chaos, unfortunately including two Hosts: Lakshmi dies protecting Casiria, ensuring the spy consort will be able to return to the Descendant homeworld and work to evict Admiral Hyarrian Vax from his position of power in the Emperor's court. November 11 is fatally wounded in the process of killing Saridian Black, effectively cutting off the Black Empress's line of communication to Hyrypia and ensuring that the remaining Carpthans can negotiate a shared right to the Nectar with which they can return to the Black Moon oust the Empress from her tyrannical throne.
Eventually the Black Empress's loyalists - now a splinter group - are defeated. The last loyalist in the room stabbed in the back by the second highest ranked member of the Carathan delegation who is eager to be a part of a deal that would see the brewing Carpathan civil war won before it's even begun. With no recourse -- and no evidence of any unusual interference beyond that of their own infiltrated Envoy --, the Enemy appears to be routed as is ultimately unable to prevent the peace talks and the first steps toward the resolution of the Galactic Polesian War.After a full day of negotiation between the Hyrypians and the three major Envoys (behind closed doors, mind you), DAY :065 is a solid days of feasting and now familiar ornate ceremonies, including faux matrimonial arrangements between specially selected members of the Major Houses and the three major Envoys. It's clear that the particulars of the negotiation are likely to last many more days, if not weeks to come and while many of the smaller envoys remain to make sure those they've curried favor with don't forget them many others are making their plans to return to their own homeworlds.
In fact, every ship and transport left behind at Naerstone House seems to have been safely relocated to the Font -- including, strangely enough, the disguised Host transport ship.On DAY :066, the Carbauschian delegation make their excuses and depart the planet of Hyrypia forever. The Hosts return to Station 72.

Please note that no mod driven logs will be posted for the remainder of Mission Hyrypia, however players are welcome to request NPC involvement and ask questions HERE. Similarly, though as of April 1st all players are welcome to play interactions on Station 72, you aren't required to wrap Mission Hyrypia related threads prior to then (cause yikes, right?). Feel free to backtag the mission (and pull us mods into any threads you might need us for, etc.,) for as long as you feel motivated to Do The Thing.
