MISSION OVERVIEW: WAYPOINT SHRIL PT. 3
THE WIND UP
After receiving intelligence that the ABA!'s pool of fabulous prizes was being held on THE FAIR HEART, the mobile headquarters of the ABA! (and retrofitted prison ship), a plan was devised to steal the prize before it ever reaches Waypoint Shril. On Day 37, a small reconnaissance team made their way the THE FAIR HEART, the ABA!'s headquarters ship disguised as Talius Rex and his retinue. Given the option of either earning only partial information or pushing all the way to the vault door, the recon team pushed their luck and successfully scouted the path to the vault door - and were captured by the The Fair Heart's security.
NOW the recon team is being held on The Fair Heart. This heist operation is now also a rescue operation. Which means...
IT'S TIME TO OCEAN'S ELEVEN THIS SHIT

DAY :038 and (very early) :039 (April 30 - March 6)
Things to keep in mind:The Heist and Rescue Team will be accessing The Fair Heart more or less at the same time. Be aware that being too sneaky might be good for your end of things, but that doing too good a job means it's more likely that one of the teams will be discovered if something goes wrong. You can't create distractions to cover each other's tracks if you don't fuck it up a little bit here and there (purposefully or otherwise). THE HEIST TEAM
Pidge, Beth, Shiro, Nasu, Lucina, and Lavellan
Your mission is to get inside The Fair Heart, make your way to the Vault, break inside it and steal The Prize, then escape the prison ship. For a rough overview of what's been planned so far, see this thread.
THE APPROACH: The recon team may board The Fair Heart by either:A) Hacking past the energy barrier onto the The Fair Heart's main landing bay. This is technically intensive. Benefits: You'll start exactly where the recon team started and know exactly how to get to the vault. Drawbacks: You're on the main landing platform. Chances are high there will be security personnel here. B) Land the stealth ship on The Fair Heart's exterior and access the inside of the ship via a maintenance hatch. This is mechanically demanding and involves wearing space suits and breather systems that integrate only with the Station's bodysuits. Benefits: Stealthy as heck. Drawbacks: You'll have to find your way to the path the recon team took to get to the Vault, which means moving through unexplored and potentially dangerous areas of the ship to get there.
THE PATH TO THE VAULT: Once they've started (or rejoined) the path that the recon team took to the Vault, the heist team will have to stealth their way through the traps and security measures there. Please brainstorm and communicate with the recon team to decide what they found.NOTE TO THE RECON TEAM: Please lay out a few ideas of things you want to play with that you can deliver into the hot little hands of the heist team. This is y'alls show, so feel free to get creative/bonkers with it. NOTE FOR THE HEIST TEAM: Just because you know what's there doesn't mean you know how to get past it. The recon team was on a guided tour, not breaking in - so if you want to play with the possibility of tripping something or almost getting caught, feel free to do so.
THE VAULT DOOR: is guarded by strict security measures. There are two guards present at all times, a close circuit monitoring system and the intensive security measures of the door itself. The guards on duty are alien (what kind? Up to you) and extremely good at their job. You'll need to rig the monitoring system and do away with the guards. However, Lavellan will be able to phase through the door itself. Yay! Once on the other side, he'll need to work with his team outside to figure out how disable the monitoring equipment inside (do it fast please or you might be in trouble!) and how to mechanically disable and open the door from the inside. How? Again, up to you but it definitely isn't just a handle (vaults aren't made to be opened from the inside unfortunately).
THOSE FABULOUS PRIZES: The interior of the vault is a starkly lit bare black (floor to ceiling to walls) room. It's also massive and each prize sits on its own matte black podium. The prize pool consists of a radical neon blue and chrome motorcycle, a flashy hover yacht in prism color, a mysterious black box with a series of faintly glowing seams, two tickets for an all expenses paid trip to a resort world in the company of Barin Vantor (the galaxy's most popular starlet), an elegant steel box containing two technically advanced dueling pistols, a three foot long glass container filled with a glowing black liquid, an exclusive contract to be the face of Shamani™ (the galaxy's most popular sock brand), a FrayStation (with 2 years Paid Account time and two controllers), a strangely warm egg colored like a polished beetle carapace, and a briefcase full of money.THE RESCUE TEAM
???
Your mission is to get on board The Fair Heart, discover where the Recon Team is being held, break them out and escape The Fair Heart.
THE APPROACH: You may either share a ride with The Heist Team or take your own ship. If taking their own ship, the rescue team will not be able to access the The Fair Heart via the same method as the Heist Team (they can still access The Fair Heart via an exterior maintenance hatch, but it cannot be the same hatch).
THROUGH THE MOUSE TRAP: Once inside The Fair Heart, the rescue team must find where the recon team is being held and make their way there undetected. The good news is that most of the The Fair Heart is relatively empty - it's a big ship and currently running on a skeleton security crew. As such, most of the personnel are centered around specific spokes such as the approach to the Vault and the personnel living quarters. The bad news: the prison block where the recon team is being held is right off the crew quarters block, meaning the closer you get to the prisoners the more densely populated the ship becomes. Luckily, The Fair Heart has a number of circuitous side passages and maintenance interstitial spaces. Or, you know, just blow your way through the joint. Whatever.
THE PRISON BLOCK: Unsurprisingly, the prison block's security is dense. It's also difficult to access the cell blocks proper - the cell system of the Fair Heart consists of a huge cylindrical multi storied chamber with steel cubes stacked on top of each other which act as cells. Each cell has an energy barrier front facing "wall" and typically cells are accessed via a hovering platforms. There are multiple guards loitering around.THE (CAPTURED) RECON TEAM
Misato, Petre, Clint, (?)
Your mission is to-- wait no, you did that part already. Now the most pressing things on your plate are networking communications, feeding information to your fellow hosts as they make their way through The Fair Heart, and trying not to chafe under the seemingly indestructible (and extremely unfashionable) tracking bracelets you've been fitted with by the security team.THE DARING ESCAPE
EVERYONE. YES, YOU.
Once the prizes (or at least some of them) have been collected and the recon team has been rescued, it's time to blow this popsicle stand. Removing a prize from the vault will trigger an alarm. Removing a prisoner from their cell block will trigger an alarm. Suffice to say, it's probably not possible to do this quietly. Which means a mad dash back to a ship. Any ship. Whatever's convenient.
Once in space, The Fair Heart's beefy exterior weapons will come online and attempt to shoot down any escaping vessels. Fly fancy, everyone.
MEANWHILE, ON WAYPOINT SHRIL, it's the wee hours of the "morning" on Day :039 and a message is broadcast on every channel and personal social media device. Miss Mystery and Saldo Saldo themselves are there ion stunning, glittering detail. Miss Mystery takes off her domino mask to reveal her covered third, fourth and fifth eyes. She smiles at the camera: "It's time now for the final event of the Aurora Blue Arena!! If you're receiving this transmission, you're officially enrolled to compete. The details? Well darling, the only thing you have to do to win fame and fortune is capture these ships!"
A live feed of the escaping Hosts's vessel(s) follows. The finale of the ABA! is now to seek and destroy the Hosts and thousands upon thousands of people and ships have just been conscripted.Good luck and let the game begin!
OOC NOTES
A catch all log for these events is live HERE. For additional plotting and planning, see the appropriate subthreads below. As always, if you have any questions feel free to pitch them to us. The general rule for this is have fun and get creative - if something isn't explicitly detailed here or in the log prompts, you're more than welcome to do whatever you feel is the most fun. Specific ship layouts, ways to escape Waypoint Shril, who you talk to and so on is completely up to you. Want to hijack a ship? Go for it. Want to shoot down a bunch of pirates on speeder ships? Have a good time. Want to blow the cannons off The Fair Heart? Better get your hands on a heavy duty gunship, but otherwise have fun.
Be aware that this event runs through the 6th of May. While you're welcome to backtag after that, we won't be extending Waypoint Shril beyond that date.

The only notes to remember is that the security personnel on The Fair Heart are extremely competent at their jobs and know the ship like the back of their hand. But they're also just a bunch of people who aren't necessarily familiar with aliens who phase through walls or some girl with a friggin' sword.

THE HEIST TEAM
Re: THE HEIST TEAM
also what if there was an Indiana Jones style rolling ball of death trap?
no subject
Plus if we barge through the wall with the motorcycle it'd be easier to get back to the ship if it's not in a guarded hangar.
also yes ball death trap

ROLLING BALL OF DEATH and also LASER ACROBATICS MANEUVER is a classic i don't think should be passed up. my brain is a little fried, but i know that much!!

Or do.
Whatever makes you happy.
(But spoilers you're not here for the yacht, so don't stress about keeping it intact.)

I deeply apologize to everyone on the heist team for how badly this is inevitably going to go.

THE RESCUE TEAM

As far as I know after the recon team gets captured, the distraction/back up team is notified (as of last post this was Sam, Damon, Steve, and Bucky) - either through Damon and Misato's brood link and/or at least Sam would have suggested they have comms of some kind to be able to stay in touch, the heist team is given what intel the recon team got, and a rescue is planned.
Either they'll charge their way in or try a sneaky infiltration and extraction, whichever people want (for the record, Sam will be in favor of sneaking in, charging out).
Jay asked what powers were available for the rescue team and the recon team, so I'll answer for Sam - he's got his symbiote abilities for healing/hurting and is experimenting using them in combat, which means he's 100% down to tranq himself and transfer it to any security guards they run into. Aside from that infiltration and extraction used to be his thing, so he's pretty good at getting into and out of places.
He'd also vote for taking two ships up to really complete the two pronged attack and also so for when shit goes down, they've got more than one escape route.

PINGING NAT HERE if this works for you guys, Steve would suggest one of them (probably himself) gets 'caught' by a guard (they catch a lone guard, somehow), and have Damon compel the guy to bring him to the prison block - the rest of the rescue team following quietly behind. As Steve's brought in, Sam, Damon and Bucky break in and start causing a ruckus, and while everyone is distracted, compelled guard will finish his compulsion orders and open the energy barriers?
This is just a suggestion and hinges on them being able to isolate one guard (two at most), so yeah!

Sam will also suggest they do distractions in more than one place - possibly purposefully setting off a few booby traps in different locations, either via doing it themselves as they run around, sending off Redwing to do things, or maybe leaving knocked out guards in conspicuous locations? - to get the guards separated in smaller groups off investigating.
They could also maybe do something small to start off with to get one or two guards off investigating, maybe mess with a booby trap just enough that it looks like it's malfunctioning? Enough to be looked into, not enough to send more than two guards for them to get their hooks into.

and I've also been wanting to get to have Sam do something mission related with her forever so
All of the above would be really awesome, since they'll be having to play distraction as well as rescue. Currently the work in progress plan is causing a bunch of distractions to get the security team scattered, luring a couple of guards off by themselves to "catch" Steve and then having Damon compel the guard to take Steve back to open up the energy barriers.
Any of Lexa's input would be great!

If it works for you/everyone else involved, I'll probably go ahead and set up some prompts for the rescue tonight (or tomorrow night-ish). Just basic stuff like premission/on the way, distraction setting, reaching the cells, and then break out/escape so people'll have a place to thread out anything they might want to thread out.

This is open for any hosts on Shril to join! Murphy will be single-track on it, but Bellamy will be available to spread the word and pull anyone in who wants in.
What I'm hoping is for this to lead to a thread of Murphy, having no real idea of what he's doing other than "following his gut", leading a bunch of hosts through Shril to get out. His ability can also offer intuitive understanding of the capabilities/belongings/skills of others (if I have your permission!), so he can direct any hosts he's with to apply particular talents to any obstacles they come across along the way. Which means if you want your character to have to do a thing - knock someone out, explode a door, maybe even fly the ship if we don't have a pilot character - I can probably make it happen.
Alternatively, if you'd rather a quicker route, Bellamy can likely make him hold the door long enough for any stray characters to just meet them at the ship :>
