things that go bump in the night
Hey guys! Just wanted to give a quick head's up of a side plot thing I'm doing with Richie.
For those of you who don't know, Richie is a culebra, which is his canon's version of a vampire. As per the usual vampiric traits, he needs to drink blood to live. He's come up with a way to deal with this, as well as potentially throw some more cats among the pigeons of their current mission, by deliberately snacking on members of the envoys, but leaving them alive.
The short of how he's doing this is by disrobing, transforming into his man-snake culebra form, and hunting down his targets at night. He's also got a handy (literally) compulsion ability that he's using to cloud his victim's memories of the whole thing once he's done. The final part of this plan is to use the attacks, when they start being talked about, to shake up the political climate by throwing in some myth/superstition about a monster that appears when there's elements of corruption (or similar).
This is a pretty slow run thing! He's spacing the attacks out, and has at this point only done one on the night of day :024. I'm working with the mods on this, so there will be consequences cropping up in future as it continues. For the moment this is really just an FYI that this is going on, with opportunities for reactions and such opening more in the future.
At this point, IC information wise:
Richie will have directly told his plan to November and Seth.
Richie's other broodmates will be able to feel him feed, once he does another attack past the hatch date.
If anyone has any questions, suggestions of particular NPCs Richie should target, or wants to mark themselves down as interested for some kind of involvement later on, let me know! I don't know how it's all going to shake out just yet so can't guarantee anything, but would definitely do my best to keep it all as open as possible.
