OOC + IC UPDATES

Hey everyone! Congratulations on making it through The Endless January.

Just a few quick, but very important notes for for the upcoming weeks:

1) Due to narrative reasons, we'll be processing one more round of hatches/new character drops for the rest of Hyrypia. There are a few slots for new players open in the game and a couple approvals for second characters floating out there, so if you want to get them in for Hyrypia now is the time to get your applications in. We're currently aiming to process applications between the 10th - 17th.

2) Over the next two weeks, we'll going to be revamping the AP system. There will be no huge changes to the system, however we're going to be re-writing the guide to demystify point spending and clarify requirements we've had in mind but don't feel are accurately reflected on the page. Our hope is that this will make AP spending and processing cleaner for everyone which will make it easier for us to clear out our backlog - right now AP spending has been falling to the bottom of the barrel in favor of other more demanding mod tasks and that sucks for everyone involved.

3) We'll be instating a new system for player plots/responding to questions like 'My character wants to do this; what happens?' This system will function similar to (and replace) the Request-An-NPC-O-Matic and be part of a revamped player plot page rather than the mission overview or calendar threads. We'll have a section in the form for 'Is a character involved with this player plot sharing resulting information with all other characters?: Y/N' that can act as a quick reference for all players. We hope to have this system live in the next few days.

To offset the time this will require for us to manage, we'll be asking that players significantly minimize their 'Can my character do X?' or 'My character suspects Y' type questions. The answer to the former is always 'they can try, results may vary' so it's much easier for us to process these as actionable plots and reduces clutter in the questions thread; the latter doesn't require anything of us as mods since we can't confirm or deny IC suspicions that aren't triggering some kind of IC action. Please be aware that in the future questions like this will regrettably fall to the bottom of our priority list.

4) A last IC note re: the Night of :038 plot log: I made an uh-oh on Tuesday and forgot to note that the set of bloody clothes found in the Admiral's Quarters belongs to the unnamed Descendant from the 'Short Handed' prompt on the Garstall hunt log; any Host who sees both the bloody clothes and who went out on the water for the Garstall hunt(or who has both these memories shared with them via the symbiote link) may recognize this.

AC CHECK - January

This activity check covers tags made during the month of January (UTC). As a reminder, to pass AC you must have:

At least thirty (30) from you across two to five threads, including Mental Link inboxes; no more than half your activity may be from Mental Inboxes.

Any combination (15+5+10; 10+5+8+7; 15+15, etc) is suitable as long as you reach the total required comment count.

All players are required to respond to this post by 11:59 PST on the 6th. Anyone who doesn't respond will be added to the AC warning list and have 24 hours to respond before being automatically dropped from the game. If you can't make AC this round, please reply to this post to request a strike. If you take a strike this month, you'll be required to turn in a total of 40 comments across up to 6 threads during the next AC check to clear the strike and pass AC.

New Players/New Characters who have never done AC are only required to make 7 comments to pass AC.
