integrating | smash n' grab (plot stuff!)

Hello fellow Nestlings! Jen here with some plotting shenanigans that I would like to share with you all. How do you feel about lending your thoughts to a little BREAKING AND ENTERING?

Following Sam Alexander’s post about how Ngozi may be hiding something, Bruce has gotten it into his head that finding physical evidence might be the fastest way to seeing if this is true. Naturally, Mara Jade also wants in on the action, so what does that mean? It means that Bruce and Mara will be attempting to break into the Public Security HQ, and consequently, Ngozi’s office.

Obviously, this is a job that would be easier with a little help, and that’s where you guys come in. Though Bruce and Mara are both capable, there are tricky things like security and such that a few other hosts might be able to lend their talents to. Things such as:

creative ways of getting into the building at night (a rooftop starting point is likely)

stealthy ways of creating distractions and opportunities

ways to circumvent the security systems, whether it be via supernatural means/symbiote powers/canon powers/etc.

related to the above: powers related to mental manipulation, to either steer on-site security away or having them aid in the operation

If any of the above sounds like something your character might be able to do and would ICly be interested in signing up for, then let me know! While this is mostly going to be a stealthy operation, and therefore the manpower is going to be on the small side, I wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to volunteer their characters for a bit of subterfuge if they feel like they’d contribute.

And even if your character wants absolutely nothing to do with this insanity, feel free to share any input or suggestions you might have. The more brainstorming, the better! For those who want a more detailed read on the building itself and the security it may have, please direct yourself to this thread here.

EDIT: The team doing the actual breaking-in is full for the sake of staying stealthy, but there are still opportunities for distractions and the like if anyone is interested!

Grabbing a disguise and walking right in would be A+, except going in through the front doors they'll probably be pinged for their IDs. In which case they probably won't be wearing their earpieces, so I don't know if that'll set off a flag? (someone confirm?)

Getting arrested sounds amazing, I'd be down for that if we can figure out how they could get way with not being recognized/cause an alarm when someone realizes that they're not there anymore lol.

Also liking utilizing distractions (inside the building?) and disguises as people who work there. Someone sew them uniforms ok.

they can do the 'oh no im new i lost my id!!!' routine. mara likes any plan that involves people underestimating / being tricked into helping her

i have wanted to see what happens when someone gets arrested from day one tbh. that would probs be more difficult / harder to coordinate / take more people but. i want it.

get someone to blow something up in the lobby a++

or outside of the lobby, since there may be a group devoted to just being outside the building? just don't maul anybody ok

also, I think most of the natives have their IDs integrated into them internally, so that excuse may not work. BUT -- echoing your above idea -- that it doesn't stop them from still entering in disguise?

yeah itd be good to steal a disguise no matter what. its a star wars tradition alright

idk have one of the superpowered kids blow something up across the street. they need to blow off some steam right

it looks like that's the direction where it's heading, some kind of outside distraction? explosions or something maybe less subtle, depends on what those crazy kids wanna do

i have a feeling they'll still have to find an entrance that isn't a front door (that isn't to say it can't be something as mundane as a window or a vent, or if clint joins he can waltz right in and open a window for them)

explosion next door -> roof access (?) -> steal uniforms -> snooping -> profit (????)

does bruce care if ngozi knows she's been snooped on or just if she doesnt figure out WHO snooped on her

thus far, sounds like a good sequence of events to me! unless someone points out something that i'm completely forgetting about, this might be the way to go.

bruce is mostly concerned with not knowing who snooped on her. of course, it's preferable if no one is the wiser at all, but as long as they get what they came for and none of them are recognized, or can be tagged later, then he'd live with that.

mara might suggest sam alexander for explosions since he mentioned being good at that :Ia if no one volunteers i mean??

then maybe they can mess up some other offices if they have time to make it less obvious they were targeting ngozi

yes! depends on which team clint falls into -- he's got explodey arrows if he wants to be part of the distraction. if he decides to join bruce, mara, and rey (as likely the final member because then it's just not stealthy anymore), then mara can suggest sam for loud distractions instead? SCRATCH THAT clint will be on the team, to utilize his shadow skills

good thinking :> since they'll be probably removing something from her office anyway (i assume? it'll be a surprise), it may be difficult to cover up the fact that someone was there, rooting around in her things.

since theyre getting into a large team for stealth, it might be good to split the team up a little. stealth team can cut into 'actually looking for evidence' and 'pretending to look for evidence' or something??

yup, sounds good. might be good to have someone as a look-out for wandering security anyway -- which could be esp. useful since they'll have rey's persuasions powers.

also re: stealing uniforms, would it make more sense for them to sneak in with uniforms already on? maintenance/cleaning, like you said.
